The Community Assistance Program for Seniors (CAPS) is an Alzheimer’s Daycare center that provides socialization and stimulation for persons living with Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, stroke, and related disorders. Family caregivers benefit from the respite, support, and consultation this program provides. CAPS is partially funded by the Area Agency on Aging. CAPS has two locations, one in Pasadena and one in West Covina. CAPS Pasadena is recognized as one of the former state-funded Alzheimer’s Day Care and Resource Centers in California.

At the Community Assistance Program for Seniors (CAPS), we believe that all participants should be treated with dignity and respect. They are entitled to high quality care and will be given the opportunity to enjoy appropriate activities in a warm, friendly setting.

Program Hours
Monday through Friday 9:00am to 3:00pm with extended hours 8:30am to 4:30pm

Who May Participate?
Persons who are exhibiting signs of cognitive impairment (e.g., forgetfulness, confusion, disorientation) who require a more supervised environment with activities that encourage participation at all levels of functioning.

How Do I Pay?
The daily rate is approximately $70 per day after grants and scholarship assistance are applied. In calculating the cost of care, it is important to take into consideration that CAPS is less expensive than nursing home care, assisted living, hourly in-home aides, and the respite for family caregivers is priceless!
